Hi, We have lived here just under a year and breaking our lease early due to the conditions.
My main problems have to do with indoor air quality (filthy air ducts), mold/mildew in walls and carpets. (when they power-washed the siding, water came in my door and seeped in the windows too even though they were all closed. The carpet was damp, and a few days later I notice a musty damp smell that wont go away. I notified them of this months ago, not a return call. Our ceiling leaked a number of times and they said they could not find a problem even though my couch was ruined and a wood antique table. 4 times they "attempted" to fix it and even made a hole in the ceiling.
The air ducts must be really dirty. We hav been slowly moving out the past month and took our pictures off the wall, there is black/gray outlines everywhere we had pictures. They were going to paint our bedroom over and only painted part of it, which doesnt even match!, this was 4 months ago! My window screens have gaps that bugs can come in and the one upstairs falls out, I put clear duct tape all around the windows since they didnt respond for a long time. Once they did respond....they didnt do anything since I fixed the problem. Maybe if they ordered screens that properly fit the window, it would be better. Upon move in 11 months ago we were supposed to get a new door since part is caved in (screen door) , and that never happened.
The cabinets are very old and many are broken and never fixed of course. I had a problem here with silverfish mostly, they are ok on getting you the exterminator, he comes out every 2 weeks. I had a bad smell in the kitchen and took out the stove drawer and found a decaying mouse! I am a very clean person, I took care of this place, Ill leave it in better condition then when we moved in. Yes, it is true, walls are paper thin. Luckily I have a great neighbor on one side, we are friends. However the other side people moved in that fight constantly, I called the police at 2am when I awoke to banging on the wall and hearing things like "let go of my arm". You can hear everything from talking, sneezing, going to the bathroom/shower, EVERYTHING! This year ruined my intimacy with my husband, I was afraid to do anything due to people hearing! Dog poo everywhere...most people pick up, but some dont. The management is not so friendly, they talk about their residents, and gossip. Shoveling, yes the parking lot, you do have to dig your car out. A number of times I shoveled my sidewalk because noone else did! I did my neighbors too! When they plow they want people to move cars by a certain time. In January I had a pulmonary embolism and was in the hospital. My husband was out of the country with business and we explained noone could move our cars if there was more than 2 inches of snow (the policy) that week. The office told us we had to find someone to move the cars or we would be towed. The closest people we know live 45 minuted away! We offered to leave our keys but they didnt want that either, luckily it did not snow!
The pool and hot tub are disgusting, indoor pool...scary. It is so grimy and the hottub cleary is a health hazard.
The area itself is nice, at least I like it. The golfcourse is down the street if you like to walk. The high school makes it busy, but I never had problems, its just a busy area to be in, no big deal.
I am excited to get out, mainly due to allergies from the indoor air. Parking has never been a problem for me, enough space close by. Im just anticipating management charging me for damage to the carpet or windows or walls. I notified them of all these things that they never fixed. They better not charge me for any of these. The prices are high as well for what you get. We are moving to a 3 br home with a garage and much larger...for same amount of money! I strongly suggest you dont move in here.

DEBEEE77 apparently likes living there. Based on popular response, DEBEEE77's opinion is worthless.

I read your review on this apartment and the area and then said - I quote- "We are moving to a 3 br home with a garage and much larger...for same amount of money!" Could you tell me where it is you're moving, cause I've been looking for an apart, too. Your answer would be of great help!
Thanx!

My conclusion after reading reviews on apartments in the burbs is not to expect too much which is shameful considering how much you pay in rent. I feel really bad when people have unpleasant experiences because I have and it's really awful
