Beware of 'renovations'

My advice if you are signing up (and paying more) for a renovated apartment is to see the actual unit in it's renovated state before signing on the dotted line and arranging to move. We moved in to our unit earlier this year and the fact that the work to renovate it was done in less than 10 days shows.
I don't think one single cupboard door is straight or lined up with the one next to it. There is paint everywhere there shouldn't be, and many things such as ceiling fans, tilework and light switch/outlet covers were not replaced.
It's a nice enough place. The pools are too small for any kind of function but the gym is great. None of the dog owners seem to have a problem cleaning up after their pets and there are always parking spaces available.
I'm just bitter that the model I was shown did not reflect what I got. It has made me consider looking elsewhere when my lease ends, and I probably will move out just for the principle of it all.

It is unfortuante that you feel that way. I was one of the first people to get a renovated apartment home with Waterford Place. And it truly has been a home. I love the work that they have done and it is worth every penny. To me, I agree that the indoor pool is too small, but that outdoor pool is amazing. As far as I know, you cannot reserve the indoor or the outdoor pool, so I am unsure as to what type of function you were considering. I have been here since the beginning of July last year and I will be here until I find a better place or a man to put a ring on my finger and marry me! Sorry for all your troubles, but maybe you should express it with the office, anytime I have had an issue or maintenacne order, it has been taken care of promptly. I cannot imagine your home is as bad as you mention.

It almost sounds like the person responding is probably staff at Waterford Place.

I have lived here at Waterford for seven years. I can honestly say after seeing several managers come and go, several managment companies come and go that CAPREIT, and the staff currently at Waterford are one of the best, now if some of you know Michelle, you cannot beat Michelle, but as I have found through the thinness of walls that she was a little off in her methods. I am a businesswoman who found Waterford Place on accident. I was lost one day, turned around, and found this complex. To me, this has been my home and I feel comfortable here. I think you are a raving looney for thinking that 200 tenants are suing Waterford Place. Current tenants, come on, do you think that 200 out of 280 of their current tenants are unsatisfied. Have you taken a look at the exterior of the building lately, they had invested time and money into improving the community. I have looked at the renovated apartments before, but since I came in on a good deal years back, the rent for the renovations is too much. I normally don't go on here, but my friend told her this was a useful tool when she went searching. I just want other people to know that I have been more than happy. I personally think that Natalie is deserving on landlady of the year award. She constantly goes out of her way to grab my packages, she remembers your name which is extremely impressive. If you are refering to Nancy as a raving lunatic, please, you haven't been to my place of employment then. Do you realize that they are running a business...

I wanted to update my review to mention that the management were very accommodating of our recent request for a short term extension to our lease during a difficult time for us. I'm not sure if the abundance of empty renovated units had anything to do with it, but I was very grateful in any case. Very flexible and willing to work with us.
