My husband and I lived there for 3.5 years. We liked the floor plan (large bedrooms) and the price. When we moved in we had asked how much the rent was raised from year to year, and were told that the year before we moved in they did not increase it. OK, so after moving in it was raised $50/month every new lease term.
We had numerous problems with our appliances. The refrigerator stopped working, they replaced it with another used one from another apartment. Fine, it worked. Our dishwasher never dried dishes the entire time we lived there. Maintenance was out 3 times to fix it and it never was. God forbid if they actually had to replace it with one that worked! Our washer put more holes in my clothes than you can imagine. Our dryer was tempermental-it dried sometimes, others you would have to go through at least 2 drying cycles. Maintenance was not that great about fixing those things as well.
As for the crime issue-it definitely was an issue. When we first moved in we had no problems at all. The longer we stayed though I would see people getting arrested during the day, police cars there all of the time or police going into certain apartmnents. There were shootings, prostitution, theft, and drugs. Not a good place to raise kids.
We had bought a new car late in the evening, there was no visitor parking available, so our new car was towed. We tried to reason with the property manager, Penny, and her regional manager to reimburse us or something and they did absolutely nothing. Oh well was there attitude. No exceptions.
We had our apartment flooded by our water heater once, and the neighbor's water heater twice. Only the first time did they come and clean the carpet and dry it. We complained about the smell, etc., did not seem to matter, no one came to do anything about it.
We have lived in other complexes, never had so many problems with the management team. They are usually very accommodating and willing to do what it takes for their residents to have a good living experience. Hunter's Glen was the anti-resident complex.
Since we had gotten screwed much of the time on all of the issues we had, we were worried that we wouldn't get back our entire $200 deposit. So, we spent hours cleaning it so that you could eat off of the floor. They ended up charging us $135 for cleaning a very small spot in the oven. They also charged us for a supposed 2nd coat of paint on the walls. They wanted another $100 on top of our deposit. We lived there and touched up the paint every year. We never had to go over it a second time! These people give nothing and try to take everything!
This is the worst place we have ever lived in! Do yourself a favor and find a different place to live. In the long run you will be much happier that everything works as it is supposed to and the management team is empathetic.

Very representative of the complex. Penny, the complex manager is -----'s minion. She tried to pin us on replacing all of the carpet in the apt. Very low class people living there too. People letting off airhorns at 3am, cars getting keyed, etc. I'm glad you got out.
