This place is filthy! The apartment that is shown to you looks really good but the one that you move into is not. There is cockroaches,ants and mice there! They only spray your apartment which defeats the whole purpose,they should be spraying the whole building! The management always change and I swear they get meaner and meaner. The manager,---- is something else. She gets a funky attitude with you about everything! Clearly, she has no idea how to run an apartment complex. There is BLACK mold in the units. There is no way to get rid of it unless you tear down the walls! When they come to clean it they just bleach and spray paint over it. The ceiling leaks of some rusted foul smelling water. (might be from the mold) When you complain about it they say "deal with it." These buildings need to be knocked down and rebuilt with all the problems they have. All the tenants need to report to them health department.The laundry facility only has three washer and dryers and you share them with both buildings.(24units!)They're really small and hardly ever work,plus it's a total of $2.50 to do one load! If you have kids,this is NOT the place for them. The major problem is the mold. It's not there when you first move in but in time they will appear. In the winter all your windows are frozen shut with a sheet of ice surrounding them. (moisture again from the mold) The management does not care. Within three years there have been 3 different managers and they all were incapable of running the complex.The one there now does not have a chance. All the things you hear about this apartment is true. I think that the management is the one writing good reviews about this place because if you talk to any of the tenants here they will tell you what's really going on.I advise you do not move here!

It's all true. Moving out of this place was the best feeling ever. They are filthy, poorly maintained apartments and utterly depressing to live in. ---- is awful. These are some of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. You will be treated like children if you live here.

The Black Mold is a major issue we reported it back in 1991 and still an issue I am still a Batavia Resident I bought a home, thank god I can deal with any concerns myself...I am a home inspector by trade I would condemn this place and let any one know no price is cheap enough to live here! you can move into a 100 year home/apt better

I absolutely agree. The only good thing about that place was the location adn the size of the apartments. Other than that everything else was wretched. it took them from feb 08-aug 08 to get ONE FLIPPIN PATIO SCREEN DOOR FIXED! The apt was less than a mile away from a Home Depot AND a MENARDS. The mold... yup.. wasn't there 'cept on one window sill, and by the time summer came around it was EVERYWHERE. ---- came in and simply SPRAYED OVER THE MOLD with PRIMER. I was fortunate enough to not meet this "----" person. I did however meet the old manager ------. She played good cop/bad cop with my fiance and I. When we left, we just wanted to get the hell outta there that we simply packed our belongings and LEFT. didn't clean the apt or anything 'cept for one room. at our new apt, we pay $160 less for less room, BUT we are still overjoyed by this new apt. sometimes I wish I could attempt to rent from Lorlyn again just to see if they'd try to pull the wool over my eyes again. Damn I wish I could be someone different for a day! I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to a place that is as filthy and poorly run as LORLYN.

I have problems with those bugs running all over the place, when I first move in the freezer had masking tape all on the inside of it covering up holes that was in the freezer.

Theses are all your loosers on this web-site.This place is a great place to live, of course if your a trouble maker this isn't the place for you. I've been here for the last 5 years and the current staff is awsome!Theses are people that probably don't like paying rent or don't like rules, they follow all rules at the office and I really like that.I'm in the process of renewing my lease again I'm very happy. Not unless theses people have the wrong property or are friends just going in the web-site macking properties. This property has a nice pool, great life guards! open from 10am to 8pm and it's open every day which is great in the evening I'm in the pool enjoying it, it's sad to say theses people were probably the problem maybe the management is also happy they left,trouble maker's.

I have had two different apartments at the complex and have had the same problems with both. Also i complained about all the pot holes in the parking lot. Finally my vehicle got broken into twice in one month. i spoke to the manager and she promised that she would talk to the batavia police to increase patrols. One final note this place has had a big problem with drugs. If you come to look at this place dont bother getting out of the car just keep driving!

To the anonymous that responded on 7/09, you need to check your spelling before you hit submit. What does not paying your rent have to do with the condition the apartments are in? Did you see those pics on top? That is disgusting! So what the pool is open? The pool is nasty! It always has a bunch of dead bugs floating in the pool,especially the kids pool. I keep reading your response and it does not make any sense! I will agree that the people in the office are great,especially ----. The maintenance guys are also great. ---- the manager is stupid. The apartments itself are nasty! That's why the BBB is being called and the City of Batavia is called daily! To all the tenants that live in the Lorlyn, please call the Illinois Health Department. We have to make Lorlyn make this a better place to live!
