I wrote a negative review and it was taken off of the site. It has no profanity or anything else, just negative information about the Apartment complex. These people are down right shady and if they come onto a consumer website and take off the negative rating then they definitly have something to hide. These apartments gave me major health problems and I had to see several doctors. The apartments are the size of a dorm room or smaller and there are much nicer apartments in the area for A LOT less money. I don't see how they have the right to have my review taken off because it was negative. And it looks like they had all the negaitive reviews removed. Good going Linden Towers, covering up your deceitful ways yet again.
DO NOT MOVE HERE, THESE APARTMENTS SHOULD BE CONDEMNED.
Here is the truth:
I don't work there like these other idiots. I will tell you the truth about what goes on in this apartment building. First of all if you smoke..live here. Because all you smell throughout the whole building is smoke. You will get your neighbors smoke though your walls and a/c vents. Then when you complain about it to Linden towers, they tell your neighbors that it was you who complained. I had an account with this really nasty woman who came to my door swearing at me, telling me that if I don't like her smoke then I can move. This coming from a woman who doesn't get any warning when she is walking down the hallway with 2 cigarettes in her hand, smoking both at the same time. For someone like me and my family who have severe asthma THIS IS A PROBLEM!! People throw cigarette butts at you from their balconies as you are trying to get your groceries inside the back door. Or in plain day when you are trying to go to work. I almost died because of the smoke inhalation in my apartment. I bought a $400 air purifier and I had to clean it once a day because all of the ash and soot coming in through the vent. 2nd hand smoke is just as bad for your health as smoking is. It causes you to inhale carbon monoxide and other gasses that are HAZARDOUS to other people. I had professional people come in and seal around the vents and inside the walls. But the internal wall is made of foam and not drywall or insulation. Cheap huh' I was hospitalized so many times that the owner of the building let us out of our lease 6 months early to avoid a lawsuit. I have written documentation and xrays of my lungs and brain at the time. I was suffering from sever anxiety attacks and Linden Towers knew all of this and they just told us to move out. I am not they type of person to complain but this was a serious problem. I have all the documentation from Linden towers employees that states that if we didn't like the smoke then we can move. So we did. They told us that is her right to smoke in her apartment. Well isn't someone else's right to breath CLEAN AIR'''' We always paid our rent on time and were quiet, respectful neighbors. We didn't shout at each other, didn't slam doors (but everyone else does), and we just kept to ourselves. When we moved out all of our furniture had to be deep cleaned because it was COVERED in ashes and black soot from this girl. And no we didn't live in the apartments with fire places...THANK GOD. I can't even imagine what those people go through.
One lady in the office is really rude to everyone who lives there. When she is actually there she will not and can not help you with anything. Otherwise you are screwed because most days she never shows up at all. If you are expecting a package and are not home, don't expect to pick it up at the office. They are never there when the Ups/Fedex guy comes. Then when they stick the tags up saying they came...9 times out of 10 you will never even see the tags because the office and other people take them off.
The apartments are tiny. We paid $810 for a 1 bedroom and it was horrible. You barely have any space to move around. The washer and dryer are so outdated and are in this little cubby hole in the bathroom. It is really really hard to do laundry in there. The appliances ARE ANCIENT!! The dishwasher never worked right (and I don't mean didn't clean the dishes) It leaked and had other problems. I usually just did the dishes by hand. They nickel and dime you for everything. If you want to store a bike you aren't allowed to on your balcony or in your apartment so you HAVE TO pay them $20 a month to store your bike. If you want storage its $10 more a month, etc, etc.
Ohhh and parking. For your $810 a month you get one complimentary parking spot on the upper deck of the parking lot or in their 12 parking spots on the street level. If there is no parking there, you can park on the street and get a ticket. Their snow removal is the biggest joke I've ever seen. They have one guy with a pickup who pushes all the snow into the parking spots (actually making less spots for you to park) and almost impossible to get out a parking spot. The worst part is that he only comes when he feels like it. The incline is so steep that once it gets slick most rear-wheel cars and trucks can't make it up. I've actually had to shovel the ramp up to the upper deck at 10PM because no one in the office cared and the dude in the truck didn't show up until 8am the following morning when everyone was trying to get to work. My car got broken into and there was glass all over, they actually smashed out my back window. I figured that Linden Towers saw what happened because of the cameras in the parking lot. The male office manager informed me that all the cameras out there are fake. SO YOU ARE PAYING FOR AN ILLUSION OF HAVING CAMERAS. The only cameras that work in the whole building are the ones in the lobby and in the elevators (supposedly).
When we were leaving (about 2 weeks before) the complex was filled with section 8 people. I seriously think the staff of Linden towers realized that they can't keep the building full of normal people so they started inviting trash into this building. And I'm talking about 1 bedroom apartment with 6 kids and 2 adults. Let me rephrase the fact that these are 550 square foot apartments that they say are 700 because the balcony is big. These people started ripping off the cameras in the elevator. Someone destroyed a camera and then crapped on the floor. They never even caught the person who crapped in the elevator. Oh and that brings me to elevators. Most of the time they are ok. But the little one gets stuck on the 7th floor and the office knows about it and doesn't care. Which is only really bad when the have the big one on service and then everyone has to take the stairs!!!
On a final note, when you move out of the building you get this list. It is a list of all the things that have to be in the apartment or fixed (with your own money) when you move out. Oh if they have to change the carpet, even if it was the person before you who made the mess, you are charged for the carpet and walls. See they put out this list because they don't clean the place before you move in. They have a guy come in and paint. That is it. Here is part of the list.
If the light bulbs are missing or burned out they charge you $10 a light bulb.

All of this is 100% factual and not made up by the office staff. Please use sense and don't live here. Try the surrounding towns like Villa Park, Addison, Elk Grove, etc. After 42 days we finally got our security deposit back. I was on 3 different anxiety meds and had to go to the doctor every week for the problems and constant bronchitis I had. After we moved my bronchitis cleared up but I have severe anxiety attacks that probably will never go away.

Everything in this review is 100% correct. This is a consumer website NOT where property managers can harass former tennants. The people who read these reviews will decide for themselves. Goes to show that half these reviews who say its a great place to live are made up. And how would you even know if they are false or not? You didn't LIVE in the apartment. Go actually spend time dealing with your tennants instead of worrying about what someone writes on a consumer website. This proves my point exactly!!

The original review was removed because Linden Tower staff members were slandered and that is against apartmentratings.com rules. This review is probably from a tenant that did not like their neighbors' smoking. Linden Towers sealed the apartment and they were not satisfied. Management offered them a different apartment. They didn't want it. Then Management let them break their lease. Please call Laura at 630/595-2420 for more about this review and better info on Linden Towers Apartments.

I lived in Linden Towers for over a year and NEVER had a problem with neighbors smoke getting in to my place. I'm pretty shocked someone had such a bad experience. My experience was far different.
