may seem within your budget, but since everything is electric your ComEd is high. you're really looking at $1000/month on a ONE-BEDROOM! might as well move closer to the city AND have some amenities for the price you pay!
if your neighbor is a smoker, you get the privilege of second-hand smoking. central air/fireplace may seem enticing for the price, but the smoke goes through the vent.
parking is terrible! you think you're safe because there's a parking lot in the back. BUT come wintertime you're screwed! the ramp is NEVER PLOWED! the managers will tell you to call if you have problems getting up the ramp, and they will tell S&S Towing not to tow your car for the night.... HOWEVER, when you do call, THEY DON'T CALL BACK!!! the answering service didn't even want to send the message. i had to argue with him & explain the severity of the situation. an hour has passed and still no call. good luck trying to get to your parking area -- you can't park anywhere else unless you want to get towed.
and worst of all, security deposit is $1000 and you think you're going to get it all back, however to my surprise they've taken out a big chunk of it FOR MAINTENANCE/CLEANING purposes. i've lived in other apartments, but i have never had to PAY EXTRA for this! and honestly, this is NOT how an apartment complex is to manage! this should already come with the rest of the expenses, not as an extra charge! also, i made sure the place was clean as clean could be, but since it wasn't to their preference, they came in and charged me $35 PER ROOM, and $50 PER HOUR for cleaning it up to their liking.
the other review from MEG1234 3/28/2007 titled "I wrote a review and it was taken off" had a PRICE LIST of repairs/maintenance/replacement. this is true! i received the same notice before i left . oh and the single lady, denisebooton, who wrote a review 7/7/2008 about her new apartment... she'll get it too. and when she finally moves out, she'll probably write another review that may not be as tasteful.
anyone who's lived here and left has had nothing good to write about.
not only do you pay while you're living there, apparently you will still pay AFTER you've left! this place is NOT GOOD. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
with all honesty & concern for you,
a previous tenant

Thanks for being honest. I was thinking about moving there but now that I have read your review I am having second thoughts about it. It sounds like this place cares more about ripping the tenant off than anything else and the $1000 deposit is way too much for a security deposit.

i'd like to know how you would feel if you left the place in, how did you say it, "clean condition with normal wear and tear," and found out you were a few hundred dollars short. and the clearly posted cell phone numbers are clearly useless if they do not pick up their phones, which then leaves the tenant no other choice of contact other than the ever-so-dependable answering service. :-)

The person who wrote this review is upset because they didn't get their full deposit back. But I know for sure that if you leave the apartment in clean condition with normal wear and tear, they will return the full deposit. Only people who care about their money will want to live here, and that's nice to know! Also, if you urgently need to reach the managers, call their cell phones! The numbers are clearly posted and easy to obtain.
