Yorkbrook Apartments has fooled one to many a renter. Beautifully landscaped in a serene park setting, Yorkbrook offers three pools, spacious apartments, a clubhouse, tennis courts and ample parking. However, the quality of living leaves a lot to be desired. I would not let any of my friends live here.

Inside the apartments, you will find walls so thin that you can hear your loud neighbors and their wonderful bass music playing at all hours of the day. I strongly believe that these people do not work. I suppose though that most of these people have their own pharmaceutical business and therefore select their own hours of work. It probably helps that most of their clientele reside right in the building. Additionally, you can hear the children who love to run and sit in the halls with their punk friends. If you have teenage children, they will not need their own room since at Yorkbrook, they can just sit outside in the hallways all night talking on their phones, chilling with their friend, or just sit and glare at people who work hard all day who come home and have to step around the kid and all of their crap.

Inside of the building, you will find an aroma that will sicken you to the pit of your stomach. Much like a landfill, Yorkbrook smells like a trash heap. The entrance way reeks so badly of fecal matter that the doors are often left open, I suspect because too many people have died trying to hold their breath as they ran in and tried to unlock the door before the heaving began. Of course, that is when the doors actually work. The back and side doors of the building that lead to most of the parking get stuck a lot. They are often repaired in about a week only to have it happen a week later. So most of the time, you are forced to walk around the building in order to get to your car.

Once you have stepped out of Yorkbrook, you will be greeted with large chunks of goose droppings. They seem to cover the entire walkways. These walkways are never cleaned. The dropping just sit there in the summer time and steam and sizzle as the sidewalk gets hotter. It?s quite a relief after you smell the inside of the apartment building that now all you have to smell is hot goose terd while you walk to your car. Yorkbrook, could hose down the walkways, however you will not want them to do this, which you will understand after you get to the next paragraph.

You pay for ALL of your utilities at Yorkbrook. Heat is electric so it isn?t too bad. However, the water bill is absolutely ridiculous. For a one bedroom apartment, be prepared to pay an estimate of $45 a month. Even if you live alone, don?t believe in bathing, and never wash the dishes, your water bill will at least be $30. Your bill will not show your water usage. Three years ago, Yorkbrook did not charge for water, so I think that they may not be set up with individual water meters. So they probably charge you for ?your share? of the entire buildings water. Which would probably include the water for the wash machines (that you are already paying to use), the water for your neighbors who seem to have it running all the time and the water for the pool. If you don?t mind being ripped off, then I am sure this will not bother you.

If you are a single female, you will always have men after you. You need not be attractive. They seem to crawl out of the woodwork. They will try to constantly talk to you, follow you to your apartment and leer at you from their balconies. I feel like I am walking down the hallway of a prison with men who haven?t seen a woman in 30 years. I have to call my husband at night to come downstairs and walk me into the building because I have had so many problems with the dirty deadbeats.

Also, if you choose to live here, do yourself a favor and pay the ridiculous $100/month for the garage if you have any pride in your car. So many cars have been vandalized that I have started to park elsewhere so I can feel safe. One woman had scratched into her car that she ?loves ?.

Please note, that someone was murdered here. I am sure it probably related to his pharmaceutical business, but do you want to take the chance'

All I am saying is that you should really drive by a lot and look carefully at the cars and the people who come in and out of the building. If you can afford a better place then do yourself a favor and pay a little more for better place. If you are not sure and think you would prefer to save more money by living here, then move in, I?m sure your mind will change in a year.

This review is totally off! I wish I could still afford to live here. This was my favorite place to live but it is just too damn expensive. I never have problems with neighbors and maintenance has a 24 hour service fullfillment. It is a great place to live I just wish they would lower their rates. But I guess if they did that then they would attract different types of people.

I have lived here for 9 years. While I think the office staff has severe attitude problems, the maintenance staff is EXCELLENT. I think the water bill situation stinks, and do look at it as one more way for the complex to make a buck, I deal with it. The grounds are beautiful! Never had a problem with the parking. As for the children, they are as good as their parents, and if the parents do not give a crap, the kids do not. We have had noise problems. HELLO 911.....No complex ever meets 100% satisfaction.
