A year and a half ago my husband and I moved into an apartment on the third floor and enjoyed it a lot. Then we made the horrible mistake to stay at Stratford Place but to upgrade apartments where we moved into a second floor apartment. We have hated it ever since we moved in. The people above us are soooo loud. We are constantly bothered by them and their dog. This renter would allow for the dog to bark hours on end (including times of 2am and 5am). Several complaints were made to the office and every time they ensured us something would be done. Finally we complained to a new staff member who wrote the renter a letter. We later found out that nothing was EVER mentioned to the renter about her annoying dog until she received that letter. Besides the dog issue, the walls are so thin you can hear everything. On a daily basis we hear them walking/running around, banging on things, you hear everytime they turn on any water faucet and use their washer/dryer/dishwasher. The loudest is when they turn on their bathroom fan, it's so loud it sounds like we have ours on and lucky for us they leave it on for hours. Also you can perfectly hear them showering, not to mention any conversations that take place in their bathroom.

As far as fixing things and the staff is concerned, it is very hit or miss with them. Some things they fix right away, other things they won't fix for months including issues like having mice on our balcony. The staff is always friendly but due to reasons above I have a hard time believing anything they say.

Overall, if you want to move here I would suggest living on the half of the complex that doesn't allow dogs and living on the third floor. Hearing your next door neighbors isn't a problem but it's hearing the people above you. I wouldn't resign my lease for anything. Our lease is up in a few months and we can't wait to get the hell out of here. I think my upstairs neighbor are getting the finger when we leave. :)
