There are drug dealers here, huge holes in the thatched roofing where birds have taken up residence, potholes that qualify for statehood, this place has a reputation around town as Scumbag Central. Police are here almost everyday looking for people. Nothing ever gets fixed, floors rot thru and carpet is the only thing that keeps people from falling thru the holes. The "sparkling pools" are usually only open at the whim of the staff. The only good thing is the location. There is one ownership group after another, extremely high turnover in the staff and it gets worse with every new group. I am leaving at the end of my lease before the place falls in. It's a shame. Because it's a great location and it used to be really nice here. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7

Dear Fed Up, your comments are so untrue, the owners have been the same for over 15 years, the management has been in place almost 2 years. The buildings were built in the 70's and do show the wear, thus the attractive prices, not to mention the multimillion dollar renovation going on over the next 2-4 years! I've never heard the place called "Scumbag Central", it may have been years ago but not hardly now. The pool is open every day from 10am until I think 8pm, weather permitting, when has it ever been closed? Police do come through on regular patrols, as with every property in Bloomington and yes it would be really stupid to think people don't come here uninvited or against the property's rules. The people that live here and respect the place they live have a responsibility to keep "Undesireables" away from the property as does management. The drug dealer comment is so weak, tell me a general part of any town that does not have a drug dealer. Me personally, I just did renew and I will try and keep my home nice, maybe if more people took pride in where they live, this would be a very nice place.

I have to disagree with the 1st responce to this posting. The owners havent been the same for 15 years, I have met the owner, becasue of issues we have had with the place and he is at most 30. He is very yougna and even admitted that to me. You mean the multimillion dollar renovation, that they are doing, but arent selling any of the condos. We have the same agent as who are selling these, and there arent too many wanting them...maybe thats because you can get an 800-900 sq ft apt for the same price as a 1000 sq ft house. Who knows!! You are right police do come through on regular patrols, but they are also here alot of other times. In the last month there was an article in the Pantagraph about it, with pictures for a DRUG BUST. In the 1 1/2 years we have been here we have been woken up twice at night by police surrounding the building around us...this is not routine. And when the front is asked their responce is, its nothing serious. Really is that why the apt was surrounded by 2 cops per side at 11 pm!!

I can see by the spelling and grammer that this second post it is one to be taken seriously. The facts are all wrong but they make a intelligent arguement?

After reading a lot of the reviews and responses I have to say that it seems like management has way too much time on their hands since they are replying to a lot of the reviews, obviously its the manager or office staff, who else would get so angry over tenants or ex tenants opinions? OH and just because someone does not spell very well does not mean that they should not be taken seriously. I have never lived at arbors, however i have had family that lived there for a short period of time, I work at an apartment complex in Normal so I know that arbors are terrible just from my in law's experience and others that i've heard about. It does not matter if the building is 30 years old, there are certain things over time that needs fixed not just temporarily fixed. You can tell just by driving through the property that the buildings are in horrible shape. Its not about tenants taking pride in their home its about management taking pride in their property and their job. obviously as long as they get a paycheck what do they care?

We lived in Arbors for 4 months in 2004. We were completely robbed of almost everything in our apartment over Christmas break while we were home visiting family. There was no security, as obviously, the people helping themselves to our stuff had to have done it over and hour or more's time. They were very complete in taking what they wanted, leaving what they didn't. The police came, didn't care. The management let us out of our lease. BAD neighborhood.
