I have been living in this complex for a couple of years now. I must say that while the staff is for the most part friendly, the apartments are horrible. There has been little if any interior renovation done to these apartments since they were built in the 70's. Here are a few of the problems I have dealt with or am still dealing with at Lakewood Terrace.

1. Outrageous electric bill. I have been paying around 200 dollars a month sometimes over 200 for electricity in my apartment. I have called the office over and over and so far they have scheduled someone to come look at it who has not shown up. The appliances are from the late 80's early 90's and use a ton of electricity to operate which is something I have no control over. The power company says all is good with the meter and take it up with the landlord which is a joke. I have asked neighbors and their bill is half what mine is so something is not right considering no one is here all day so no power is being used.

2. Cockroaches. I have had and still do have a terrible cockroach problem in my apartment. I have not had these bugs for two years and now suddenly I am infested with them. Apparently, this is an ongoing problem for some of the buildings in this complex. They have sprayed for them but it has not changed the problem. I have a 5 year old and living with these disease carrying creatures is not acceptable.

These are just a few of the major things I have dealt with in my time here at Lakewood Terrace. The apartments get worse and worse yet they still raise rent every year. There is one washer and one dryer for 12 apartments and they usually do not work because they are 30 years old. They just raised the prices for running the dryer and you have to run it twice for it to work. Finally, I am just letting people know how this place is because I would not want my worst enemy to have to go through what I have living here. Look elsewhere for a place to rent unless you like living with these conditions.
