Paying top dollar for 20-year-old apartments

Everyone's rents are skyrocketing this year, and now I know why - they're remodeling the clubhouse. Great! I really wish they'd replace my 20-year-old stove that burns everything I cook, and my dryer that overheats and stops after 15 minutes. I don't know how they can call these "luxury" apartments when they've made no interior improvements since the complex opened in the 1980s. After 3 years, I finally got them to replace the double horizontal mini-blinds on my patio doors to normal-looking vertical blinds. And that's worth an extra $40 a month' I don't think so. Since I should probably think of something positive, I'll say that maintenance is usually pretty quick to fix things, and I've had decent neighbors - no loud parties. My advice is to move a little further north and you'll get much more for your money.
