Good for apartment living

Maybe it depends which building you live in but I've come home at all hours and have never had to park more than 4 spots away from the front door. I recently decided to rent a garage because I'm sick of scraping ice. For $99 a month, you get a little shack and half the time the door doesn't work. Glad I didn't take it for the whole year. Snow removal has been great, they salt in advance of storms. Maintainence has been awesome. I've had a couple middle of the night emergencies and they were there in 10 minutes, cheerful and helpful. General maint. issues have been taken care of the same day. That being said, there are some problems. The common areas should be cleaned and vacuumed every day and they are not. Of course, geese are a problem all over the area but I prefer not to find their presents on the front stoop. They use the cheapest paint, carpet, lighting, etc. I have a nice full size washer and dryer but the washer doesn't have many features. The dishwasher is from the stone age and basically useless. Cabinets are peeling. The low flow toilet is the pits. In terms of noise, I can hear my upstairs neighbors walking around at all hours (they sound like elephants but look like humans) and I can hear other peoples' showers and washers, but again it's an apartment complex and to be expected. Overall, I do think it's a good place to live--but it's also expensive. As long as I can afford it, I plan to renew my lease.
