You never know who to call when there's a problem, because no one is ever around. A neighbor of mine had stuff stolen while she was away (someone beat in her door) and she didn't know until a week later because the police couldn't get ahold of the manager (who never ever came in to the office)!! The place keeps switching hands so you never know who to go to with an issue! The parking lots aren't safe- some people had their cars attacked by paint guns and my purse was stolen from my car. A lot of things were broken and unclean when we moved in. We were made to believe that we'd get a place that looked "just like the show apartment", but it was completely different! The carpet was torn up, the cabinets were broken, the air conditioner didn't work, and at one point our toilet started flooding.
If I were you, I'd demand to see what apartment you're getting before you move in. And don't be surprised if the things they promise will be done when you get in (like new carpet, paint job) aren't done at all.
