These apartments are highly over-priced for what you get. When I signed the lease I was under the impression that I would get the apartment that I had looked at in the spring, but in August they put me in a dark apartment directly over a moldy smelling sub basement, and provided me with furniture that was covered in mold. In September, when the rains started, my apartment leaked from the air conditioning unit, which was placed in a dug out space in the area in front of my window. I fared better than my neighborhs down the hall even though I had to move my television, stereo, and computer to higher ground. The people down the hall totally flooded. The air conditioner never cooled the apartment enough in August and in September, and when I asked for someone to check the unit, the management implied that I did not know how to work the unit. In early spring while I was taking a shower, the water was turned off without warning, leaving me with a soapy head. The halls always smell moldy, and they are generally littered. The outside garbage cans are not emptied enough, and are usually overflowing. The high cost of these apartments is definitely not justified through any kind of quality. Additionally, the lease needs careful study. One of the articles in the lease stipulates that you need to give 60 days notice; so, even though I had a lease that ended in at the end of May, I had to pay until the end of June because I did not, in writing, inform them that I would leave when the lease ended. I have reviewed several other leases, and this is the only one that I have seen that requires formal notification of departure date despite a signed lease with a definite end date on it. It cost me big.
