The rent makes it one of the cheapest places in C-dale. Most of their apartments are furnished (refrigerator, kitchen table, chairs, desk, bed) which is perfect for people who are just out of the dorms. Unfortunately then you can't get new furniture.

I currently live in the studio apartments on S. Logan. The neighborhood can be described as "ghetto", and there are quite a number of apartment buildings in every direction. The view from the large window looks out on a not so pleasing area of C-dale, but it's not like a trash heap. I've never had any trouble from other residents or neighboring folks, in fact some of them are quite nice. Plus, I don't bug the landlords and they don't bug me. They seem very polite and helpful. They don't really clean the building all that often, but it's not disgusting.

Heater is a floorboard sorta thing, and the AC unit is kinda wimpy but okay. Electricity costs about $50/month during winter and summer, while the other times of the year it has been as cheap as $15. The landlords pay for water and trash (a dumpster outside). You must buy a parking pass for the lot that is $25/year, or you can park on the street. A phone line in that neighborhood is *incredably* expensive ($60/month - Verizon). I opted to just have my cellphone and get wireless internet through Poof ($30/month).

So if you are thinking about Royal Rentals remember that it's worth the amount of money you pay... but that doesn't neccesarily say a lot.
