I moved to this complex because my BF lives here and things have been pretty decent thus far.

I rented a 3-bedroom, 2-bath that has been unoccupied for at least a year. I found a couple of Brown Recluse spiders upon move-in and the office had Terminix come out and I haven't seen any since.

The biggest major problem was the air conditioner. Apparently the local satellite company decided to run the cable through the machine and, as a result, it was leaking into the apartment. Thank goodness I'm on the first floor and I have concrete rather than wood beneath the carpet.

It took three tries for the maintenance men to fix it properly. One thing I've learned through the years of living in rented housing in Carbondale is that they fix things better when you actually watch them do it.

Since then, no maintenance problems. There's a crack in one of the bedrooms that looks like it's been patched pretty badly and the drywall may need replaced down the line. On the whole, it could have been a lot worse in a year of neglect.

I've met most of my neighbors and they seem friendly..and quiet. Apparently I live in the ritzy section of the complex judging by the type of cars in the parking lot.

So, in summary, so far so good.
