we have been here 8 months and i can't really complain a whole lot. when we moved in they were in the middle of doing major renovations so i was lucky enough to move into a unit with all brand new appliances, carpet, flooring, sinks, cabinets, counters, a/c's, everything pretty much. only thing was the wood work and walls weren't done all that great, kinda sloppy... but it was good enough. maintenance is always fast, even for really small things. the office staff is phenominal, they really do care even after u sign the lease. the long dim hallways are kinda ugly, but they did paint and re-carpet, tho who cares it's not like u have to live in the hallways. always sufficient hot water and the noise from apt to apt is minimum, usually i only hear noise from the bathroom above mine.
now as far as "bugs" cuz im kinda picky about this...during the month of march i was gettin these lady bugs (from my bathroom they seemed to be coming), but all i did was spray some bug spray around the wood work, heaters, cracks, etc...then made sure i took a lil tape and taped up the lil tiny holes they could have crawled thru...after that the problem was gone. as with any place you're going to get spiders and what not...but same thing, spray the wood work and cracks in every room about once a month and u won't notice it. also, keep in mind...roaches crawl thru buildings, just because u keep a clean apt and kitchen...doesn't mean the ppl next door do, and if they happen to have the office come in and spray their place, chances are all those roaches will attempt to infest your place next...i seen one roach in 8 months and it was right after my neighbor got sprayed. i went to the dollar store and got some "boric acid" its a white powder, after washing everything down good with bleach and cleanin all cabinets, sprinkle some behind your stove and fridge...also maybe a lil in the very back of your cabinet beneath sink...and then again with the bug spray around the cracks. problem gone.

theres always ample parking. security doors in each building, they don't buzz your home...it actually dials your phone and u can press 9 if u want to let them in or not. the balconies are a really nice size. u don't pay for cooking gas, heat, water or garbage which is a plus if you're tryin to save $$. one thing that was a bit annoying is REAL late at night there is a strange funk that comes into the apt and i'm just not sure if it is the lil pond outside my building or sewers...but it only happened a month during spring, so perhaps they fixed the issue already. overall for the price and apts...they rate really high and if i leave it will be because i really want a washer/dryer IN my unit. other than that tho...u can't beat this. also the greenway which is also located in carol stream by the same management has washer/dryer in unit so that is something to consider too, i hear those are just as nice and not too pricey. i seen a bad review by someone who USED to live here when it was another name...well alot has happened since then, all the apts have been upgraded and the outside too so don't let that be a determining factor.
