This was me and my husbands first apartment together. Two bedrooms,big space,nice overlook of the pond just beautiful. Until two months into the place my niece runs out of the room from sleeping saying water has driped on her face from the celling. Another three months go by mean while I'am still waiting for them to fix the ceiling, I'am locked out of my apartment because the key cannot turn the old rustic locks. Which they did fix right away because the police came with me to try to see if someone was trying to break in. A few months later there was a leak in my room which it took six months for both rooms to get fixed. That was only a patch job, because three months later under new management thank god the kids room ceiling fell in leaving a big hole in the room, which took a month for new management to fix only because I called carol stream building inspectors from the rain water falling into my babies room and leaving a meldow smell in which they still havent cleaned up leaving me and my husband sick. My husband hurt his back on the stairs because somebody decided to leave beer bottles on the stairs. HELLO you have little kids running around the building why would you leave beer bottles around the building. The back door is constantly broken leaving the building unsecure. Also that goes for the back door window which is covered by a board because it has been broken for two months. The building suffers from graffti, pee smelling laundry rooms, and burned stained carpet which new management only fixed the first floor carpet making it into tiles while the rest of us suffers. But new management is fixing it up they did paint the hallway walls. What I'am try to say is the managment is a joke that is constantly saying it takes time. I asked for a six month lease in which they said yes then later said we cant do that because of new bankers, not wanting to stay here anymore I took a month to month lease after finding out three months later that they don't do six months lease. Found An apartment but was told you can't move out till the 15th of the month because we will charge you double the rent if you move out on the fifth. Hopefully I will be out of this soon; Moreover most of all for those who live in the nice buildings good luck because the people in our building are sorry and leave paper all over the place. Even Worst try going through this place with morning sickness. Overall I have been taken advantage of since me and my husband are young, and they view we don't know anything. The Final Straw came when the fire alarms in the hallway went off at 10 pm then again at 9:30am which managment said they knew but was just testing the alarms. Last time we had Fire alarm testing if management is reading this WE WERE NOTIFIED WITH FLYERS ATTACHED TO EACH AND EVERY DOOR. Please be advised and be selective of the apartment building you move into.
