Long story short - Beware of birds in the dryer vents and mice. I was very happy with my apartment when I moved in. Very clean and average. But after 8 months I had birds in my dryer vent making a racket for three days. Maintenance came out and took care of the problem. A month later I found a mouse in my pantry area. Freaked the hell out of me. I called the answering service ( it was late ) and told them, but nobody came from maintenance the whole night. Called a relative and he came and caught the mouse.
Two hours after he left, I saw another one walking across my kitchen floor. I panicked and, of course, no one came on my second call for maintenance. The next day the manager called an exterminator and all he did was throw one bait trap behind the stove and after my insistance he put another one behind the refrigerator. Later that night I saw it coming out into the kitchen again. I tried to block off the kitchen door so it could not come into the living room, but it got through that. Another call to my relative and he came and caught it. He started pulling out the appliances and found a hugh hole in the kitchen wall next to the dishwasher where they were getting in. I was shocked - we put mice poison in the hole in the wall and around the kitchen area where I saw them coming out. And stuffed a towel in the hole in the wall until maintenance could come out and plug it up with steelwool. That was three days later. I barely got any sleep during those days and was so disgusted with that place after that. I have no idea how long that hole had been there. They could have been in the apartment the whole time and I just never saw them. So beware !!!! Also, it is not very sound proof. I had a very noisy neighbor living two floors up from me. A party animal who loved having friends over and getting drunk every weekend. Very noisy and disrepectful to the neighbors. They would stand out on the balcony at 4am talking and swearing very loud and that noise filters down to the apartments below. And they threw their beer cans and bottles over the balcony with their cigarettes butts onto the lawn below. I found a couple of broken beer bottles on the sidewalk. Also, his friends kept ringing my buzzer in the wee hours of the morning for whatever reason. Was very annoying. Don't rent a first floor apartment unless you like mice. And $40 for pet rent is ridiculous. I should have look around more for a better apartment complex, but I needed to move in a hurry. I have moved out of there three months ago and I am so happy to be out of there.

The maintenance people only come after hours if it's an emergency, a mouse is not an emergency.
