Let's see, I can give you some perfect examples of incidents that have happened just IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS. I suppose if you're a party animal with no job who loves to drive their car fast around the parking lot and play loud music, yell loudly and act like a fool, this place is PERFECT for you. However, if you have a job and like to sleep at night, you value your privacy and/or have children..... DO NOT MOVE HERE.

The neighbor's car was broken into last Friday, his stereo and all of his CDs were stolen.

Someone was working on their car right under our window (hitting a piece of metal on the engine with a HAMMER) at 2:00 in the morning on Sunday night and waking up the neighborhood. It clearly states in our lease that no cars are to be worked on in the parking lot, let alone at 2am on a work night.

The neighbor on the 1st floor had someone pounding on their window at 1:00 in the morning last week (Sunday) screaming "come on over, I'm having a party" for at least 20 minutes. This of course woke me out of a sound sleep once again.

The fire alarm was set off by some teenagers on 2 weeks ago, Friday. They snuck into our building to smoke cigarettes in the hallway (there's no smoking in the halls here, for a good reason) and we all had to evacuate. This is at LEAST the 10th time in 6 months we've evacuated for a false alarm and you can verify this with the Carol Stream fire department.

A sex offender was arrested for molesting children in our apartment complex and again, you can verify this also with the Carol Stream Police Department.

The stop signs around the property have been ripped out, so the speed demons can race through the parking lot (this is at least the 10th time they have been ripped out.) The "racing" through the parking lot and squealing of tires happens nightly around here. Speed bumps on the property do no good at all. They just drive right around them.

One of the maintenance men who owns a garage on the property sat in the parking lot (so we had 1 lane to drive by, because he was blocking off half of the other lane) with a fire blazing and drank beer with his friends with loud music playing until 3am on Saturday night.

Last night (Wednesday) I was woken up at 12:30am by firecrackers being blown off in our parking lot, this same thing happened Monday night. Good thing my car wasn't parked nearby.

Last summer when I was on my way out of town, I was up at 3am waiting for my cab ride to O'hare when I saw 4 VERY drunk teenagers skinny dipping in the pool. This of course was the 3rd time I had to call the police for people who have jumped the fence late at night and decided to swim naked in our pool. Call Carol Stream Police Department, they can verify this.

A few months later, a bunch of young men (I'd guess they were about 20-23 years of age)jumped the fence after the pool was closed for the season. They had a cooler in their hands and when they noticed the pool was empty, they decided to urinate into it. The police were called for this incident as well.

It's your choice. Spend more money and have a quality place to live, or come here and live in a dump where management doesn't take ANY complaint seriously. I for one cannot wait to move, I've had enough.

UPDATE: The pool was closed today by the health department. Why, you ask' Because it's filthy. The pump has not been working for the past 2 weeks, there are goose and duck droppings in the pool because they swim in it daily and bugs floating in it. The property manager bought a new vacuum that doesn't work! There is no way anyone is checking the chlorine levels in it, the water is cloudy and you can't see the bottom right now. Again, if you don't believe it... stop by and see for yourself.

It's all true. I hate to admit that I PAY to live in this place, but I couldn't have written this any better. I have experienced almost all of these incidents while living here. Management doesn't take the issues seriously. If you call the office to complain, they do nothing about it.

This IS all true! Wow, I have nothing to add. I can't believe someone else is experiencing the exact same things I have been for so long. I pay way too much to live here.
