and I have to say it's really not as bad as people on here make it out to be. I actually almost didn't move in because I was so scared by that last reviewer. The hallways are a little damp and could have some better windows, but our apartment is really nice. We were REALLY impressed by how much sound is blocked out. When the windows are closed you can't hear anything outside (which is good because we do have a neighbor who's car alarm goes off all the time....) and you can't hear what's going on in the apartments next to you (even when their TV is really loud). We have a two bedroom and its more than enough room. The kichen could use a little more countertop space and cabinets, but all of the appliances are new and work very well and the cabinets we do have are really nicely made. Someimes on the weekends we have to park further away then I'd like, but it's not as far as people are describing, and it's not a problem during the week. We have a dog, and we were very happy to find that St Charles Square was very dog friendly. There are A LOT of dogs around, so if you are not a dog person, I would think twice about moving here, or at least ask to be put further away from the dog buildings. When we first moved in there were a couple of minor things that we wanted fixed with the apartment and maintence came over right away. I happened to be home when our maintance guy came in and he was very nice and talkative. Overall, it's not the perfect place to live, but it's a lot better than people are describing... and it's a good price, especially for dog owners. We've had a few annoying neighbors standing outside their cars and playing rap really loud, but if we get really irritated about it, we can shut the windows and it pretty much blocks everything out. The staff was very friendly to us and even gave us this really nice welcome home packet when we moved in that had a lot of menus to neighborhood restaurants, ect...It turned out to be really helpful.

Who wants to live in an apartment with the windows closed up at all times? That's the whole reason for our noise complaints! We don't want to be prisoners in our homes because of immature neighbors. The car alarms are a serious problem - let's get real about that. They go off day and night and even with the windows closed you CAN still hear it. My neighbors blast their stereo constantly, I can hear it clearly through the floor so I have no idea what you mean by sound proof apartments. If you're going to leave a review, at least be honest about the noise level. If people are walking (or stomping, like my rude neighbors do) in the hallway you can hear it CLEARLY through the wall.

I think this is an honest review. Hey, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion! I found this review to be helpful, especially because I just moved in. So far, so good. After all, these are only opinions...it is up to you to check out apartments and decide for yourself. ** Great place if you need an apartment that allows dogs. ** I think I am in a "dog building", so my neighbors understand barking occasionally is normal noise.

I am being honest about the noise level. I don't have to keep my windows closed all the time, but I'm just saying every once and awhile when the college boys that do live around us get a little loud on the weekends, It's an option for us to close the windows. We can hear people walking in the hallways, but I don't know what apartment you're going to live in where that isn't going to be a problem. I do get really annoyed with car alarms, but what is managment supposed to do about it? Half the time I can't even tell what car it's coming from to complain about it.

Anonymous - you are so right on that. Couldn't have put it better myself. Funny you mentioned that your neighbors have their TV blasting and they stomp down the hallway - perhaps you live in my building?? This happens daily in ours. The car alarms? Well I'm awake at 5:30am right now due to that EXACT reason. The neighbor's car alarm goes off every single day at 4am and never turns off until he starts the car (which by then, I'm already wide awake). This place is a joke and it's just a matter of time before Staceyface figures that out herself. Risa has her snowed like I was when I moved in. I don't pay rent to listen to rap music, loud parties, loud cars, car alarms and rude neighbors.
