St Charles Square Apts are good but not perfect

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I have lived at st charles square apartments for a year and have enjoyed it and have not had many problems. I'll go through my review in each section. Since we recently had a management change, I'll give my reviews for both so you can see how the new management is.
1) Parking: I gave parking a 2 since it has gone downhill since the new management took over. With the old management I would have given it a 5 since I could easily find parking near my building except in the late evening and usually during the day there was plenty of parking available. Currently, it is usually pretty full near my building with few open spots except for very specific times of the day. Also, there have been a few times when new management has had 2 cars blocking the way into parts of the parking lot.
2) With both managements I give noise a 4 since every once in a while it's noisy, but overall, it's pretty quiet here.
3) Grounds: I give both managements a 5 on this, since it looked fine before. Currently, the new management appears to be working to make the grounds look even better and they are doing good.
4) Safety: I gave this a 5 for both managements since I feel really safe here, although the door buzzers aren't the greatest system (and were just recently repaired after not working for 7 months) it still is pretty safe.
5) Construction: I gave both managements a 5 on this as well. While these buildings are not perfect since they are not new, I think they are in good shape for their age, although I would recommend that you ask to see the apartment you're getting instead of relying on the model since not many apartments will be as perfect as the model. Still, the buildings are in good shape for their age.
6) Maintenance: I would give the old management a 5 on maintenance since they were always very quick and got everything fixed extremely fast. With the new management I gave maintenance a 4 since while the maintenance people are still the same and very good, it takes a little longer to have things fixed.
6) Staff: I gave the new management staff a 2 for several reasons. First off, because they are so formal and professional that I don't feel comfortable even in the office. The office doesn't even look like an apartment complex office, it looks like some sort of boring sterile accounting office (I actually think accounting offices might be friendlier). Most of the office staff is really stiff as well and when people enter to talk to them they don't even look up from their desks or even say hello. I think they are going for "professional" and they took it to the extreme. I would have given the new management a 1, but I have found a few people who work there who are actually friendly. I would have given the old management a 4 since they were friendly, but I will agree as with previous reviews, some of the old management did push the friendly boundary.
7) Overall: I give this apartment complex a 4 since from my experiences, it is pretty good but not perfect. There are some issues with hot water in the shower and sometimes the parking lot did not get salted in the winter (only happened 2-3 times, but the snow was not deep at those times either) and these have been mentioned before. The management's not perfect and neither is the parking, but overall, it's a good apartment complex.
