Decent place, but noisy.

Having read the couple of other reviews here, I decided to add my thoughts. Overall, I think it's a decent place. I've lived there almost two years and haven't had any substantial problems. The building I'm in is prone to some soggy carpeting near the doors when it rains a lot, but I've only seen the elevator out of commission once, and have never seen the laundry room flooded. The laundry room is pretty small for the number of people it services, only 4 each washers and driers, so it gets a little full on the weekends.

I don't make use of the pool too much, but I have enjoyed the indoor raquetball court a few times. The pool room is only open during business hours, which is rather pointless.

Parking is somewhat of a problem... there was a period of time where the closest space after 6pm was all the way across the complex. Get a carport.

Noise is a big problem. I'm on the second floor. The ceiling above me creaks when my upstairs neighbors walk around, which drives me nuts. My floor creaks a lot when I walk around, which probably drives my downstairs neighbors nuts. I can hear my downstairs neighbors putting their dishes away in the cupboards, and the little kids running down the hall is really loud. Even with the bedroom windows tightly shut I can hear a conversation going on in the parking lot about 20 yards away.

When I moved in there were some problems with loose, broken things in the apartment, but they were taken care of within a few days. The only other maintenance type issue would be the electricity/heat. I've noticed that when the thermostat is turned up (i.e. heat is on), there will be frequent static-y popping noises from my tv and stereo... every few minutes or so.

The rent is pretty high, and increased $35/month the first year. I've found bigger and cheaper places closer to where I want to live so I won't be renewing my lease this year.
