my first year at yorktree was great...we only had one problem and although it took 3 attempts to fix our toilet...it finally was done...with no more problems. well..we decided to upgrade to a 2 bedroom..in the same building! biggest mistake ever. all of a sudden we had ants, which i understand is normal...but in the mass amounts that we had..it was horrible. and ROACHES. gross. those didn't come until later though. linda fowler was nice when she got her way, but if you beat her at her own game, watch out. she is spiteful and rude. speed bumps were horrible. i am in my new complex and glad to be!! i have a lot of damage b/c of those stupid speed bumps. and, i never flew over them b/c if i did, my bumper would have been torn off. our building was so nasty and i wouldn't even know where to begin. maybe the laundry room that smelled like rotten eggs, or the cracked foundation that left a leaky, mildew producing mess in the hallway. or maybe the tenants who leave garbage throughout the grounds and buildings. i was always picking up trash and cigarette butts...that weren't even mine. i tried when i could to keep stuff clean. the last month i just couldn't take it anymore. the complex tried to make me pay all this extra money...forget that. i had to go through resident relations and argue this. of course i won because i am not a stupid person. however, the attitudes and poor customer service that i received at yorktree was a joke. whoever wrote those nice reviews must be working for AIMCO. anyone who lives there can clearly see the horrible shambles this place has become. cops always around b/c of drugs and criminals. i could type all day about how if yorktree was the last place on earth to live, i'd choose my car first. this complex has had troubles with keeping the office staffed. they even lost some paperwork in my file. come on!! they've also had problems with maintenance. i get so worked up everytime i think about this place. move to stonegate...the walls are a little thin...and there's some construction going on, but at least there are humans working on it. thanks...sorry so long. :)
