I would not reccomend that anyone live here. I have not really dealt with any management issues. They have not been particularly friendly but I've really never talked to them other than to request maintence. The real problem here is the kind of people that live here. I moved in in June before most people lived here and it was beautiful. We had fun parties all the time and it was just a lot of fun. Then everyone else moved in. The cops are here constatnly so it's impossilbe to have a fun party without getting busted. It's all stupid white trash hicks who like to get rowdy to the point of needing the cops to be here. Don't get me wrong there are some nice people who live here, but those who are not nice ruin it for everyone. I've had random people come to my apartment and steal my alcohol and puke on my wall. I would say that over half of the people who live here are parkland students who are from small towns having their fun before they drop out of school. I have heard several people be in awe of the "big city" of champaign. These are the people who think they own the world and they can prove themselves by drinking a case of beer or a fifth of whisky and fighting for no good reason. Don't get me wrong I love to party and my roomates and I probably do at least three time a week but these people are out of control. If you dont like to party and aren't worried about the cops also don't live here becasue it is a place to party weather you are a hick or not. The apartments keep music out pretty well, I can usually just feel the bass of the people below us but it is the people yelling in the parking lot. Parking is also not very good because there are no assinged spots so if you come home any time after five in the evening don't expect to park near your apartment. There is one dumptster that is faaaar away from my apartment and you get a fine if you have trash sitting outside you're door or on you're balcony so be prepared to make a regular long hike to take out the trash unless you are in the building beside the dumpster. The tanning beds are only available during office hours and you have to sign up to use them. Half the time the printers in the computer lab dont work. The internet goes out for hours or even a day sometimes which is not good if you are taking an online class. The pool was finished four months after they said it would be done when I signed the lease. We have gotten completely ridiculous notices saying that if they find cigarettes below our balcony all three floors that have balconies above it will get a fine and that "they can see us even if we can't see them". According to one notice the police are our security guards, but I really don't know if it's true. It really doesn't matter though because the cops are almost ALWAYS here. The "luxury" furnishings are really not all that nice. My roomates boyfriend has had to fix all the chairs and table because they were getting wobbly. Probably half of the cabinet doors have come unscrewd and had to be fixed. Maintence is slow to come sometimes but one of them is acctually really nice and funny.
It is nice to have your own bathroom but this means when you have people over you have to either leave your room unlocked and all of your stuff succeptable to getting taken or constantly be unlocking your door for people. I thought the apartment itself was a nice size and it's nice to just have to pay the rent each month. This would really not be all that bad of a place to live if it was not for all the other people that live here. If I had wrote this at the begining of August I would have had very few complaints but most of the people that live here SUCK. It is not a place for someone who doen't want to party a lot, the quiet buliding is a joke. If you like to party and not got to jail and fail out of college it's also not for you because the cops are here all the time. DON'T DO IT!

We cannot make comments as such relates to derogatory racial slurs, as we are most certain all reading can and will understand. Some of the content of this rating precisely represents the reason why we ask and hold our residents accountable for all their guests and visitors. Clearly, this is an unfortunate example of an uncontrolled guest of a resident during a party that we believe, did get out of hand. 88 West management does not tolerate disruptive behavior within our community and in fact, has structured policies and procedures with regard to registering parties for this reason. During a registered party or the discovery of an unregistered party, should the resident refuse to comply with management-appointed patrol service representatives catering the community after office hours, the proper authorities are notified. While we want our residents' experience at 88 West to be fun and memorable, it should not be at the sacrifice of another residents' right to quiet enjoyment. As a result of this specific incident, although some of the details provided within the context of the rating are inaccurate, we immediately addressed this from an interdisiplinary perspective. Apparently this is someone who has been in trouble with the police at 88 West and is mad at the world because they can't control the people coming in and out of their apartment. "People walk in and steal our alcohol and puke on our walls"....Here's a suggestion for you...Lock your doors and stop having so many parties that you can't control. My roommate and I love reading these reviews. They are hilarious. All residents are "stupid white trash hicks" is only an indication of the type of person writing this review. I would think that the average person knows that tanning beds are regulated by the Public Health Department therefore, a salon can not be open at all hours of the night. Besides, who complains about a service they are getting for free?....Again, an indication of the type of person writing this review. Need I say more?
