I lived in the E. Clark St. apartments. A small set of, I believe, 20 loft apartments. I feel it was pretty safe, about as safe as something that close to the champaign ghetto could get. It was far enough away from the university that it was fairly quiet. Their policy on showing apartments was a major issue, but non debatable, if you do not renew your lease they will bring people into your apartment any day of the week during business hours without warning, so much as a phone call. This is very annoying whether or not you are there. When I did see them there, the person showing the apartment would just let them in and let them wander around by themselves. They could have stolen anything and the guy would not have known at all. The place I had was pretty nice and a good price. I did not stay long enough to see if the rent increased. The parking lot is sufficient, but the spots are marked a little small, often a tight fit. I seldom heard the neighbors, except the ones that were trying to annoy me. The management seemed pretty good to me. I only needed something from them once and they took care of it right away. I never had any other problems, the place seemed rather well maintained. Overall I would reccomend it for college students that want to be far enough away from campus to avoid the noise there.
