We loved our apartment at 705 W. Church St. in Champaign. It is walking distance to downtown and the cheapest apartment that we found for the size and location. Our apartment had just been remodeled before we moved in so it had new carpet, tile and bathroom fixtures. Some of the other apartments in the building are kind of dingy so be sure to look at all available units and sign a lease for the specific apartment that you are interested in. The maintnence guy lives in the building and tries to get things fixed within a couple of days.

The down-side to these apartments is that the laundry room is located in the 703 W. Church St. building and there is only one washer and one dryer for both buildings. While we were there, several of the people who lived in the apartment building at 707 W. Church (owned by a different company) would get pretty noisy at times but we couldn't hear anything from the people in our building.

Overall, it was a great apartment. The staff was very helpful and even let us work out a payment plan when my husband was out of work one month and we couldn't afford to pay our rent.
