I'm staying at 205 E. Healey and I cannot wait to move out!
It is extremely noisy and the things I've requested of BARR-RE in August 2008 at the move-in date, are not even now, February 2009 done.
When my neighbors above me are laughing, talking a little bit louder and sometimes even when they are in their intimate moments, I can hear it all.
The base rent is $401 and includes only water. The stove/oven and the heat are electrical, so in December when I was not at home and I had the electricity on the lowest option, I still had to pay an incredible $140. I guess it is all because of the windows, which are very "aired".
Without the noise in the building, maybe I would have stayed. But then they told me for Fall 2009 the rent is going to be $501. Exactly, they increased it by $100.
For parking you need to pay an additional $50/month. And THERE IS NO LAUNDRY!
Oh, and about the noise, the floors/ceilings are old or something, but when my neighbors are walking you can hear that too...
I would recommend to stay away if you want to sleep on weekends between midnight and 6 am... and not hear your above neighbors "having fun" together at 4 am.
And to finish with something positive, you need a key to get in the building... so kind of safe'

My son had the same problems when he lived on Church. Beware when you move out they will stick you for cleaning costs even if you leave the place spotless. They are scum landlords. All their care about is money. No consideration for their tenants.Wouldnt be surprised if you were paying for someone else electric and gas also. Before you move call the power co and have the utilites taken out of your name. Do it a couple of weeks before you move. They dont shut off the power it goes back into Barrs name. One way to get back at them.
