I lived in Baytowne for 3 years; I'll start with the good stuff. The apartments are very pretty, with new paint and carpeting upon move-in. The appliances are well kept up, and the bathroom space is enormous. Also, the complex scraped snow and shoveled promptly in the winter. The men and women guarding the gatehouse were always nice and courteous, and signed for packages when I was not home.
However, in the last year or so, Baytowne has taken a more lenient policy toward letting students in (this has always been a more professional/grad student oriented complex). As a result, I had a revolving door of neighbors in my building, and most were loud. One had a huge stereo system that vibrated throughout the building. Another couple had two small children (which I don't really mind), but also were consistenly loud, and had a HUGE suv that they parked crookedly all the time. Only later did I find out why their parking was so off; one night I found them stumbling down the steps with beer cans in hand, children in tow; the family climbed into their SUV, drunken parents at the wheel. Also, did I mention that last year another resident plowed his minivan into a first floor apartment'
Also, I have to agree with other reviewers in saying that this complex is REALLY cold. The windows and doors are not sealed properly.
I really have to say I enjoyed the first years of living here, but in recent months, the complex has deteriorated completely. Maintenance has not been kept up, the office staff does nothing to stop noise, and complex has just looked overall more trashy. I paid a lot of money for this apartment, and I feel cheated.
