Cheap, dirty...a big headache

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
The apartment building looks nice from the outside but looks like a shack on the inside.
The elevators smelled like a warm shrimpy urine. There was garbage all over from the other tenants. The management would not be very helpful with missing appliances, broken appliances.
I moved into a brand new apartment building and the walls and windows were already dirty and damaged. The walls are thin.
