Great experience

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
I'm not quite sure what everyone else is talking about that CPM is so horrible. I have rented from them for 2 years now and will be renting again next year. I have lived at 107 E. Springfield on the third floor and now on the first.
Of course there are problems with things getting old...it happens. Sure sometimes the floor is a little off level...buildings settle (do you really think that can be helped, if you do then apparently you have never lived in the real world).
If you have had trouble talking to maintainance... maybe you just haven't figured out HOW to talk to them, you know, like human beings instead of your personal slaves. Don't expect them to come out that day for a broken dresser, they have REAL emergencies to take care of, like pipe leaks and water damage.
We have had things break, emergencies or not, as long as you are patient they have it fixed within a few days, and we've had help in emergency situations within 15 minutes of calling!
Perhaps many people have very high standards and are expecting 5 star hotel service. Wake up- you won't get that ANYWHERE.
The only REAL problem we've had were roaches. It wasn't for a lack of spraying, our filthy, nasty neighbors don't keep their apartment clean and provide a roach breeding habitat. No matter how much we sprayed, they kept coming back because of our neighbors. That has nothing to do with CPM or its management practices. In fact, they have sent pest control out once a month and have even paid for us to hire someone else to come out. It has definitly helped, we only see maybe one a month and its usually right before the pest control guy comes out again. There is nothing else that can be done until our current neighbors move out. If they are paying the rent and there are no other complaints, there is no legal (or valid) reason to kick them out...even if they are dirty.
I would definitly recommend the second or third floor, the bug problem is eliminated there. I had no problems at all when living on the third floor. Also, the space available in this complex is massive compared to ALL other apartments I've seen while living on campus. 3 bedrooms cost anywhere from 222-250 per person and you get a living room, dining room, 1 and 1/2 baths, 2 decent size balconies, as well as having access to a brand new fitness room. There is a nice park right across the street with play equipment for children and a basketball court, and the apartments are relativly quiet depending on your neighbors. I had noisy neighbors one year, but people tend to be quieter if they know they are being loud, let's face it, sometimes you just don't realize how noisy you are being. Talk to your neighbors!
Also, yes, parking can be a problem, especially with more than 1 car...but there are ways to get around it. My apartment has 3 cars... after one semester we all managed to switch our parking spots to right in front of our building. Once again, talk to the company, people there are really nice and will help you if you treat them with respect!
