Nice people, but is it an act'

I've lived with CPM for about two years now, and the hype is much more than the reality of their apartments. For instance, the internet service where I live now is free, but it takes minutes to upload a 1.3 Mb powerpoint. During prime times loading webpages is painfully slow. Don't even think of trying to stream any...th...in...g...
Maintenance - nice people but they never fix it right the first time and they are always looking for the cheapest solution. Our previous apartment had an exposed electrical wire in the ceiling fan when we moved in. It took them 4 tries to get it fixed. We moved out because during heavy rains our first floor apartment would flood from the front wall causing a horrible mold problem in one of the bedrooms. The first 'fix' consisted of putting caulking along the supposed point of entry. Absolute failure. If they rented that place after we moved out they should be sued by the current residents, as it is unfit for habitation after heavy rain.
Our current apartment was said to 'look great!' before we moved in. Well if you call a spray of red soda on the walls, along with what is apparently hand lotion right along side of it looking great then we have different definitions of what great is. This doesn't include the black streaks on the walls, the cracked towel bar in the main bathroom, the shattered electrical plate over a socket in one of the bedrooms, and a flooding refrigerator that was 'fixed' once already. Thing was CPM had 2 to 3 weeks to get this place ready as it was an 'out of season' move. They 'might' have cleaned the rugs, but that is really about it.
Still CPM did help us in a housing quandary we had so I can't really fault the company too readily. But in reality, it was rent of an apartment that was going to be unrented anyways, so while it was good graces on their part, it was also in line with the profit motive CPM so readily portrays.

I agree. The apartment I lived in with them was really not in that great of condition. I never had many maintenance problems myself, but there was something that looked like dried blood all over the ceiling in the main bedroom that I could never get out.
Also, cpm does NOT clean their own carpets. At least in our apartment complex with them, it was up to the resident to arrange AND pay to have the carpets cleaned before you moved out. I'm not sure that CPM does really anything to the apartments before someone else moves into them.
