A few things to watch out for, but good overall

I've liked living here so far. Lots of parking - a rarity in this town. Good amount of space for your money. Within walking distance of supermarkets and fast food places, something I've found very convenient. Right by Kaufmann Lake if you like to fish. There's a bus stop out front, so if you go to UI or work there, you don't have to drive. Only a few things to watch out for. The place was built in the fifties, and many of the units still have ancient air conditioners. Ask to see the specific apartment you're moving into, and make sure the AC runs well. I've been lucky but some of my friends haven't. Don't live on the ground floor because the water sometimes backs up in the kitchen sinks. The second and third floors cost a little more but they're worth it. Overall, I'd recommend living here. I have a spacious apartment with a recently remodeled kitchen and easy parking for a price you can't get near campus.
