These apartments need to be torn down and rebuilt in my opinion. They're old (built in the 50's) and not kept up with very well at all. I lived on the upper floor which was pretty much unbearable in the summer. The only air conditioner is in the living room, which cools only that space. There is absolutely no air conditioning to the bedrooms, which makes it miserable to sleep back there in the summer months. And in the winter the "free gas heat" is free for a reason. The thermostat is just there to look at. It was always chilly in my apartment and I had the thermostat on at 85 degrees (which obviously didn't control anything).

The showers hot water would come and go during the course of taking a shower. Sometimes it would turn ice cold then it would get so hot it'd just about burn you! You could always here when people were showering too and the walls were paper thin.

The electricity had obviously never been updated or it had been more than 20 years since they did so because the apartment only has 2-pronged outlets. This means you have to buy a little converter for each thing that requires a 3-pronged outlet (microwave, power strips, stereo, etc). Basically, it's a fire waiting to happen.

The garbage disposal was a joke. It was completely useless. Basically, if you used it the pipes would back up and they could then charge you to fix it.

I left the place cleaner than when I got it (there were huge cobwebs in the corners and dust on all the window ledges when I moved in) and they then had the nerve to charge me $50 to clean grease on the walls in the kitchen. Funny thing was I don't cook.

The neighborhood is also not the best. I had a random guy come knocking at my door one day wanting to use my phone. He was not one of my neighbors and it scared the crap out of me. Needless to say I didn't open the door.

And as others have mentioned the staff there are the rudest people you could meet. If I treated people like that at my job I'd be fired on the spot.

Best advice I can give is to stay far far away from Country Fair Apartments!

I agree! How is it that I live on the 3rd floor and the water still gets backed up?? This doesn't make sense to me. The "heat" is a joke. My heat was permanently turned off for the year in March after 2 nice weather days! Needless to say, the next week it was freezing again. I love the so called "outlet" in the bathroom mirror, I can't even fit my hair dryer plug in there because it's so tiny! Ah yes, converters for everything, very safe, along with the 2004 fire extinguishers in the hallway. My apartment was so nasty when I moved in they should have payed me to clean it upon move-in! I marked every little tiny detail on my move-in check sheet, they better believe I am getting my deposit back in full!
