I cannot stress enough that Gabe's Place Apartments should be avoided like the plague. I do not even know where to begin. First, like everyone else who has written a review, when we first moved in, our place was trashed. The bathroom was a mess, my mattress smelled like rancid B.O., there was still food in the oven, there were numerous large holes in the walls, the carpets were (and still are since Gabe never cleaned them despite numerous representatives assuring me they would be) filthy, there were still clothes in some of the drawers, etc. No one had been in there since the previous tenants had moved out. Since we had no other option, we cleaned it ourselves.

We still haven't been reimbursed for our time even though I have probably asked about the money about 30 or more times. Honestly, the only way to get their attention is through the wallet. They tried to pin a garbage removal fee on us that happened during winter break, even though none of us were here to leave garbage out. When we refused to pay it, they finally addressed some of my issues and assured me they would get back to me. Lies. I still have heard nothing

Don't believe a single word that comes out of any of their mouths.

If anything ever breaks, you are better off fixing it yourselves. Our exhaust fan was broken for a month. After two weeks, I finally called and talked to someone and he basically told me it was our fault it wasn't fixed yet because we hadn't complained enough about it. Funny thing is, we did the proper thing and filled out a maintenance request, which should have been enough. One thing I will give them, the maintenance staff, once they finally show up, are usually really nice and do get things fixed.

In the end, I can't sum up in words the amount of contempt I have for Gabe. He is a slumlord, pure and simple.
