When I looked at my apartment before leasing I didn't see any bugs and asked the leasing agent if they had ever had any problems with this building in the past...she said no, so I rented.

Everything was fine until about two months into my lease, when I had ants all over my kitchen. Now I'm a neat freak so this was a complete surprise because nothing is ever out on my counters. When I called the office they were rude, telling me that the buildings are regularly sprayed, that the problem must be due to my style of living. No one came out after numerous calls, and I had to pay a local bug company to come out to take care of the problem.

I don't appreciate the way my concern was handled, and will warn other students from renting with JSM in the future.
