In contrast to the other reviews, we've never had a problem with maintenance. The two times we've actually needed them, they came within a day and fixed it the first time.

The office staff - in particular the receptionists - could be friendlier. But, if I only have to see them once a month when I drop off the rent, who cares' The other staff were pleasant.

The apartment was very clean, no bugs. The buidling itself was only about 2 years old, which may explain the lack of maintenance problems.

I have little sympathy for tenants who complain about landlords taking advantage of "student renters." Yeah, too many landlords are slumlords, but it doesn't have to be that way. Don't act like a student renter. Instead, act like an adult - know your rights (look at city ordinances), read your lease, if you don't like something in your lease don't sign it (decent landlords and affordable, clean places exist - some close to campus!), if you don't understand something in your lease don't sign it until you do. The student tenant union can help you with all of these things.

People who live above Green street don't live there for its tranquil beauty. There's only so much a landlord can do to maintain apartments when tenants insist on decorating the hallways each weekend with evidence of their latest alcoholic achievements.
