overall, the experience for the first year has been decent. the neighbors don't really bother anyone, and one of them had even asked if i needed help with my car when he noticed it wouldn't start. it's a very nice area to live in, about a 15 minute walk to campus. we haven't had any problems with people trying to break in. the apartment wasn't terribly clean when we moved in, but it wasn't atrocious. we did find cat food under the couch, so obviously when management "cleans" it, you see how well they actually do. one thing that made my roommate and i upset was the management. our microwave went on the fritz and we called him the next day about it, leaving him a message on his cell phone. we waited over a week for him to call back, and we ended up calling him a second time. i understand if you're busy, but come on, a phone call to let us know that you at least got the message would be nice! we finally got a hold of him that second time and he told us to throw out the microwave and that he would be stopping by later the next day to drop off our new one. that definitely did not happen. good part about parking is that no one really cares if you have guests park in the parking lot over night. unless every single spot is taken, no one makes a fuss and calls the tow truck. it's a block away from railroad tracks, but a train comes by maybe twice a month so it's not an inconvenience. the hospital however is about two blocks away and the helicopter gets annoying after about 20 minutes of non stop back and forth. i would recommend this apartment for short-term living only. it's not terrible, but it's not the best either. just be prepared to do a lot of your problem-solving with little help from management.
