I went to grad school at the U of I, and this place worked really well for me. I signed up for 2 9-month leases, and they made it very convenient for me. For instance, you could leave your items there during the summer for a reasonable fee. For an additional fee, you can have the place furnsihed, and you only have to pay for that the first year (hence why my rent went down). The buses drop off right in front of the complex, and it's relatively quick to get to from anywhere on the complex. The staff was always very friendly and attentive, maintenance problems were quickly taken care of (the few that I had), and though the gate upfront isn't tightly secured, they make sure that they know the people that are coming in and out of the place. I felt safe a good majority of the time being there, and I'm generally the paranoid type. Inside the place, it was spacious living room, and the closet was ridiculously large. The only bug complaint I had is that there were fruit flies in the spring, but nothing that couldn't be taken care of buy putting your fruit in the fridge or ziplock. My only complaint (through no fault of their own), is that there was no balcony. Overall, it was the first apartment I had, and I truly loved, and miss, it.
