I am extremely unsatisfied with Mallard Point apartments in Channahon. I signed a lease needing a place to live in between houses. When I moved in (September 2008), my faucet in the bathroom was caked with lime due to not being cleaned for what looks like the entire lease of the previous renter. The overall condition of the apartment was decent, but I have requested several times that the faucet be replaced as it is disgusting, with all requests being ignored. Parking is another issue, my neighbors have 6 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment, each with their own car and often times I park my car on the street. The windows are poorly sealed and have killed my heating bills, even as of December. The apartments are very poorly constructed. I am also over the garages and things have fallen off the walls when the garages (there are 3 under me) are opened. All of these things mentioned above may seem trivial, but the icing on the cake is the ice condition already 4 days into winter. The entire sidewalk is covered in 4 inches of ice at all times. Snow will sit for a week before touched. My 70 year old grandma slipped on the ice. I called to report it and simply ask the ice be taken care of. Again, my request was ignored showing they do not care about the overall safety of their residents and family. I feel that paying such a high rental fee, more should be given. Please think twice before signing a lease at Mallard Point.
