I chose to live here when I first moved to the city, and I think I made a good choice. The building isn't too far away from the Red and Brown lines, and the LaSalle and Clark bus stops are practically right outside the door. There is a small gym with treadmills, elipticals, and a few free weights. In addition, there's a pool that nobody uses, in building dry cleaning, and they have free bagels and cereal M-F in the morning.
After living here for awhile though, I think you start to notice a few things. #1) The elevators are terrible. They are incredibly slow and there is usually one that is not working due to people moving in or just because it's broken. #2) The building staff is hit or miss depending on the day you go down there and who you deal with and maintainence isn't great (it took them 3 times to fix a leaky toilet) #3) Because the area is very close to Mich ave, etc, there are a lot of tourists all over and street parking is next to impossible (although, there is a garage for $200 a month).
Therefore, my opinion is, if you are just getting acclimated to the city, this is a good place to consider, but if you've lived here for awhile, you may not want to deal with the slow elevators and rude building staff.
