I, by no means, think that 1130 S. Mich is a bad apartment building! I do, however, feel that I should give my 2 cents. The staff in the leasing office is generally nice, not pleasant, but nice. They will answer any of your questions and do what you ask, but tend to be too over-worked to be "cheery". The doormen are wonderful! They always make an effort to know each of the tenants and are more than happy to treat you with the same respect which you give them. I don't know a lot about parking or animals as I didn't have either, but I didn't have any problem with parking any time that I did bring my car from Michigan/rented a car or my friends/parents came to visit me. The apartments themselves are generally quiet although the hallways do tend to be a little noisy, which wasn't a problem because I didn't ever really hang out there! The apartments did smell like curry frequently which was rather nauseating, especially after the gym! The maintenance staff was generally very prompt and pleasant. The views were very nice in some places, but not worth the price in others. The gym was adequate, but not by any means what I'd consider top-notch. The pool was nice, but a little chilly and the hours did suck. It was REALLY nice that the utilities and basic cable were included. THE HIGH SPEED INTERNET DOES NOT WORK! No matter how many times they sent out the guy to "fix" it, it never worked. PAY FOR INTERNET, DO NOT DEPEND ON THEIRS. The windows were awful, single-pane windows from the 60's, but they are re-doing all of them, so that shall become a thing of the past very soon! Overall, I'd say that it was a nice experience, but I would say that it was a little pricey for what I got.
