Condos for rent from individual owners. Obviously the Hancock is one of Chicago's famous landmarks. Floors are from 45 to 80 .
Building is very well managed, very well maintained, fabulously located, with a number of amenities in the building (receiving room, small supermarket, bank, dry cleaners, restaurants, FedEx, UPS, US Post Office, office supply, florist, etc.). Rates for studios are in the $900 to $1250 range and larger units are priced relatively (which is to say higher). Some famous tenants. Building is mostly occupied by people over age 60 and the building itself is over 30 years old. Two month lead time to submit lease and get approved.

Residential floors are actually between 45 and 92. You are right about the amenities, though. Fabulous. In addition to what you listed, there is a fair sized gym (with pool and saunas) that takes half the 44th floor and has great views of south, west and north Chicago. The supermarket is also better than it used to be because it's now a Potash Bros -- they're well-stocked and whatever they don't have, they'll order from their other location several blocks away. Design teams have revamped all the common areas and halls but stayed true to the modern feel of the building (remember there are steel beams all over). It's a good and pretty place to live. Fresh flowers in all lobbies (street level and sky) and the staff is very friendly. True, the tenants are older -- many have lived here since the '70s or '80s -- but as might be expected with a population of this age, it is only a matter of time before there is a turnover in residents. A lot of younger families are moving in. I would say the building is in a state of transition. One thing: if anyone interested in renting/buying at the Hancock is a dog lover, forget it. I knew the last poodle to live here and that was years ago. No one is allowed to move in with a dog and the last dogs around were brought in when the building had a different policy. Sorry. :(

From 1969 until the 1990's this was the poshest address in Chicago. Now it's #2 (behind 900 North Michigan), but it's still fantastic. No other building outside of New York is seen in so many movies, TV shows, commercials, logos, and other manners.

Hancock is a world class building & a fabulous residence. Easily THE poshest address in Chicago. The building has been honoured as the best example of modernist architecture & immortalized in US postage stamp. Living in this building is fantastic. From the gorgeous Sky Lobby to the very polite, happy & helpful staff, to the stunning views from each & every apartment. I consider myself very fortunate to live in this building.
