Many positives outweigh the negatives From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/11/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007 1 response   I have lived here about a year and half. This building is no means a luxury but if you have a pet and are a lakefront bike path work out freak, this place is for you.Also great location for walking to anything you need. You are only paying for location if you live here. You do not need a car here. I have been parking on the street all this time and really have no problems. Patience is a virtue here. Maintenance is good, they are all very nice and respond right away. Everybody complained about Joe, the bldg manager, but he works for a major company and only has control over certain things. He is friendly and responsive. The community areas are kept very clean and well maintained. Okay there are issues with the elavators, heat and laundry machines. All need to be updated which costs a ton of money. If they do all that our rent will go up. My apartment is freezing but have talked to other tenants and found that this is a mixed bag. My utility cost is almost 0 so it is cheaper to get an electric blanket and bundle up in winter. AC works fine in summer. There are shady tenants. I was out walking my dog at 9:00 in the morning once and this guy came out from behind the dumpsters and was totally stoned on marijuana. He came in the building with me and could barely stand up and didn't appear to know what floor he was going to. Very sad for him... Listen people, it doesn't matter where you live, house or apt., there will be BUGS of some sort. If you haven't lived in Florida or Arizona (which I have both) you should not be complaining about spiders or bugs! I do not plan on staying because I do want to purchase my own place, and I think that this why most people come and go from the place. I think this is only place I can get this across, PLEASE PET OWNERS WHO NOT CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR PETS WITH BAGS, I Plead with you, don't be LAZY. DONT BE CHEAP, Buy the bags, be responsible and courteous, or DONT HAVE A PET!!
