I moved into my apartment on the 15th of June, so my rate was pro rated to 1/2 a month for June, and I go the special for the 2nd month $250 off. The first week I moved in, I discovered no electricity in my walk in closet, and the outlet in the bathroom (in addition to it not being completely attached to the wall). The counter had this really awful what paneling on it, from them putting in a new stove, I was assured that this was temporary. Last but certainly not least, my window blew in on the first Friday night, and shattered. The only thing that has been fixed one month and 3 weeks later is the window, 2 weeks later. I bought a new floor lamp and extension cords for the light and outlet problems, and I just ignore the counter. I paid my pro rated rent the first month, and my second month, July, with the $250 off. Today the 22nd of July I get a call at work from the management company, TLC, telling me that my rent is short $250, and I need to pay it before it carries over and cancels out my $250. Apparently even though I paid rent to them in June, it doesn't count as my first month, and even though we are nine days to the next month's rent being due, I have no leway, pay or be considered delinquent. No mention of anything about any of the other repairs, and no consideration. I love my apartment, mostly, but I have spent so much money getting it to where I want it to be, that I have depleted my savings, and have $15 dollars to last until pay day. Good thing I went food shopping. Do not rent here unless you have money to burn, a handy man to employ, and don't care about your apartment.
