I'm surprised by the reviews. I've lived in hyde park for years and moved there because I wanted a modern place and this was the best I found. Everything was new. I think some of these reviews might be dated before the renovations. I don't know, but I would say google them or go visit yourself. I don't think they are MAC either, it says Algonquin. Don't know. But I had a good experience.

Probably you are the only one. You say that you have been living here for just this year, so let me ask you this: Were you during the winter while the heating was (again) not working properly? Do you pay the electricity of your neighbor because MAC (yes, Mac Property Management is the company behind Algonquin LLC) has been UNABLE of fixing the mess with the cross wiring/metering they did when they "renew" the place? Do the security cameras in your building work or are they there just as a decorative fixture? How long did it take to the "professional management team" to add you to the intercom system? or to assign you a locker at the basement of your building (actually... were the lockers ready when you moved in?). Curiously enough, all these problems started AFTER the renovations were done, under the management of MAC, so your comment about the previous reviews to be BEFORE the renewals is WAY OFF MARK! The place has lots of potential, but the management is simply terrible and it is ridiculously expensive for what they offer. If you are happy (assuming that, indeed, you are a tenant and not someone from the management trying to improve the grading of the building and trying to play down the criticism with things like "The bad reviews are before the renewals" when, if indeed you did read them, you would have noticed that they are AFTER such renovations) then I envy your capacity of being happy while receiving so little and paying so much. I honestly do. I am moving as soon as my lease expires. Enough is enough! BTW, if the place is so great as you say, why is that there is always so many people MOVING OUT and so few MOVING IN? And once again: the negative reviews here are all under the management of MAC, and are all AFTER the renovations. This was a GREAT place when it was managed by Habitat. When MAC took over, and started with the renewal of the buildings, they managed the impossible: To screw up a very nice place. What is worst, is that they continue to do so in a daily basis!

The building is quite nice, but the management is just horrible. I hated living there paying rent to MAC, while they kept my apt too cold or blazing hot during the winter, overcharged me for rent, snow plowed 3 ft of snow behind my car (i pay to be in the parking lot, yet they still would plow if right behind my car). The management would not listen, yelled at me most of the time, and then threatened to increaes my rent. Enough is enough, you may love them now but just wait till any problem comes up and then you will know what i'm talking about.

Why are you so harsh? If the person who posted prior to your post loves the building so be it. When I posted, I stated the positive and negative so please allow people to be honest. If it's management, the real teneants will speak out and hopefully overshadow their views. This is supposed to be our opinions and just because they don't mesh with yours does not mean that you should try and make someone feel bad for posting a positive comment.

I agree with jbidder you "Anonymous" have some personal vendetta or something you're way out of line chill we can all understand this has been a horrible experience for you but you can't be mad...YES YOU'RE MAD at whom ever posted this review just b/c their view differs from yours. I was actually considering this apt and I read all the reviews I know sometimes you can't go by them b/c it can be the same person repeating the same thing..And no I'm not a member of management at all BELIEVE THAT I took everyone's comments into consideration and it was very helpful but the negativity in some of these post only leads me to wonder is this one or two individuals making repeat post trying to get back at the management for something harsh they went through I hope that's not the case. Seriously
