It's more like this - funny when people get upset when they signed a lease expecting a certain standard of living, and now that a conversion is underway, all the rules have changed, and not in your favor. It's like there are new terms to your lease that you didn't sign on for. Examples: Constant water outages. If you get 24 hours notice, you are lucky. I would say that on average, at least once a week the water is off from 9-5. And when you do have water, sometimes you don't have hot water. Are we supposed to be happy when we have ANY water? Is asking for hot water to shower and wash dishes asking too much? And security, forget it. The back door is propped open at all times (at least 8 am to 8 pm) for the construction workers and for tenants lucky enough to be moving. The front door is usually propped open by the realtors for the daily open houses. Lots of unidentified men who might or might not be construction workers roaming the building. Lots of vacant units that are sometimes left all night with the doors wide open. Official work hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 6 days a week, however they drop off dumpsters as early as 5:45 a.m., which can kill 1/2 hour of your sleep with all the racket. Not only should a single female not feel safe here because of the lax security, anyone living here should be afraid about what is in all the dust that covers everything in this building - including your "clean" silverware. A lease is a contract, and none of these inconveniences are part of your lease. As far as I'm concerned, Kass and Kroupa have violated our contracts, and we should all be free to leave!!!
