Disappointing

I was enticed by the location and the great deal they were running (free month rent, etc), but ended up very disappointed. I moved in mid-2002 with the promise that construction was nearly finished and all these great amenities would be available soon. Nearly a year later, many of these promised "luxuries" have not yet come to fruition. I like the apartment itself and it really is nicely finished, but the building leaves much to be desired. The elevator is very old, rickety, and very loud. It is often out of service and always a nerve-racking. The laundry room was finally updated and is nicer, but I'm still waiting for a functioning elevator and the promised fitness room and bike room. The water goes out with regularity. The walls are rather thin, and I can hear my neighbor and his dog at all hours of the night. The management is nice and friendly, but generally slow to respond because they know that I won't like the answer. Repairs always take much longer than they should. Also, with all the construction still ongoing, there are often strange people in the building, which is a bit disconcerting.
Overall, this building has a lot of potential with its location, but it's just too much money for too many false promises. If you move here, don't get your hopes up, and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING as far as expected dates of completion, etc.
