The manager chain smokes in her office and common areas. As a result, the entire lobby and most common areas smell of nicotine stench.
The building has been refurbished and renovated but the pipes still burst and create problems (leaking water damage to other units, no water, no hot water, rusty water, etc.) at least once a month and often more than that.
Thieves routinely hit the bike rack outside and there's no bike there that has not been stolen or been stripped. There's numerous section 8 personnel in the area so this may account for much of the crime. Apartments are broken into on the frequency of about once a month but this is hush hush. Gaining access to the building is not an issue at all if you do not have a key or do not live there.
Maintenance is virtually non-existent. The manager is unprofessional although she means well. She is in over her head. Although she presents well initially, it does not take long to realize she is the epitome of the Peter Principle in action.
The building has no parking. Parking is on the street or in one of the local pay for parking garages. Street parking is a nightmare. If you do plan on parking on the street plan to secure a spot before 3 P.M. as after that time you're very lucky to find anything.
The building is filled on the weekends with enough drunks to fill the local police district drunk tank. As a result, there are many things stolen, destroyed, vandalized, etc. on the weekends. It can also become very loud and rowdy into the wee hours of the morning on the weekends.
Great location with easy access to public transportation but that's the only thing good about this place. I do not recommend moving here based on that alone.
Do not rent here or you will be sorry.

How does a manger that smoles have anything to do with you as a renter? What is the problem with people who take personal/vacation days. Last I checked that was not illegal.

Welcome to living in the big city you idiot. Has nothing to do with the building. Move to the burbs in Montana for peace and quite.

I am looking for a new apartment and came across this site. And I must say, I'll never rent here. You - the anonymous poster who routinely goes around defending the manager - are very obviously DENISE. Why you haven't been fired after all this time I can't figure out, though. You are obviously off your rocker.
