Would someone PLEASE explain to me why the building manager, Denise, still has a job! FIRE her already!
She is SO rude, lazy, argumentative, unprofessional, and incompetent that people are leaving the building just because of her. If I was half as rude to my customers as she is to tenants, I would be fired on the spot. I cannot wait for my lease to end so I can move to a building where management appreciates the tenants instead of yelling at them. A few examples of her unprofessional behavior:

- She yells at the tenants from the office - not even bothering to ask to speak to them privately - if they use the front elevator with dogs or large items. Half the time the back service elevator is broken or being used by someone to move and you HAVE to use the front elevator. She needs to stop yelling at people like a prison guard.

- She was very rude to my father when he visited for a long weekend. He buzzed me at the intercom and I buzzed him in but Denise, who was too busy eating in her office and watching TV (they pay her to watch TV - unbelievable!!!), made my father go back outside and get buzzed in again because she says tenants need to buzz people in - I did buzz him in!! Of course she denied doing this when I confronted her.

- She is always messing up paperwork and is too lazy to give tenants receipts when they pay rent. You have to make sure she writes down a maintanence request or she will forget and then deny that you ever asked her.

- She fights with her adult children in front of tenants using profane, and in my opinion, abusive language towards them. I have heard people comments many times on how inappropriate that is.

I could list more examples but you get the point of how unprofessional this woman is and how detremental she is to the building. I am sure she has cost the management company thousands of dollars from incompetance and rudeness.

Lakeview is too upscale an area and there are plenty of buildings that would be professional and courteous towards their tenants. Buyer beware - Do NOT rent here.

P.S. The positive reviews posted below and the replys to this posting are most likely from Denise's "friends" in the building. She has asked tenants to write good reviews so she looks good to her boss. I know this for a fact so be skeptical when a posting sounds too good to be true

Agree .... They are trying to market the apartments through the apartment finding services. Do your own little research before coming here. Old dilapidated building with unfriendly management

You just have a personal issue with Denise, for the building is great, the location is killer and the $$$$$ for what you get is inline with the rest. Shop some and you will see. Does she live with you in your unit or do you just go upstairs and mind your own business ?

no personal issues necessary, denise is a terrible building manager.she stays some nights (approx.2-3x a week) until eleven, so her grown sons can use the computer and she can watch her cable. the owner should forbid her staying this long and her sons from being at the building, period. she often gossips with tenants, sharing what should be confidential information regarding other tenants (checks bouncing, promiscuity, drug use). she regularly discusses her husband who is in ______. whats going on with that???? up until recently she could be found planted to the front bench chain smoking. it is also known around the building that she withholds money from tenant deposits if the walls are not spotless, upon moving out...what is this about, i mean furniture marks, come on. your going to paint anyway. for someone who is pretty sloppy herself, it seems ironic to be so picky about minor marks on the wall. and finally, her phone manner and overall attitude is ridiculous. she speaks to everyone like they are her sons, and seems really needy for friendship. denise is a great lady, but a terrible building manager.

I have to agree with this response... denise does gossip way too much and has no regard for private confidential matters with tenants. she should be careful or she will bring a lawsuit upon herself for slander. her family problems should stay private and out of the building but she brings them to work by yelling on the phone to her kids all the time and when her sons do show up here, they are really creepy. the creepiest thing is that Denise does talk about her husband in jail for the same thing that Michael Jackson was on trial for (don't want to actually have to type the crime because it is so gross.) she spends more time smoking outside than working---she was even put on probation for smoking in the front of the building but guess that did not stop her from still doing it. why does the owner of the building tolerate her ridiculous manners and attitude - could really classy the place up by getting rid of her.
